Frequencies

Feel free to share here or the Wiki (link in the sidebar) any frequencies that you find helpful. (You'll get it once you download and play.)

I'm trying to find my beta-testing notes because I found a couple.

Note: comments (and the Wiki) may contain game spoilers

Bug reports

If you find something a little odd, and you don't think it's intentional. Feel free to report it here.

Chapter 7

Not a hoax.

Not an imaginary story.

Download X-Assault Version 0.97 here

Alternate link

Not sure how long the free storage quotas will last.
If you host the file as well let me know in the comments and I'll add it here.
If the links fail let me know and I'll update them as soon as I can.

Release notes from the developer

- Chapter 7 is accessible by password or through save data
- You don't use the Cerebro interface or the big board to recruit anymore - Cerebro is broken
- I know Tarnish didn't look like that in the seventies - he's older now and he lost the big seventies hair
- Use numbers to choose who you can recruit
- There are seven hidden playable characters
- The little blue light means there's water in the area
- Yes, there's a reason that guy showed up twice
- Try saying no once in a while
- There are three ways to complete the chapter
- Complete all three to see the true ending

So get playing.

P.S. if you find any interesting frequencies let me know.

P.P.S also any bugs etc are worth reporting to so they can be passed back should any further development ever happen.

The wait for it is almost over

Weren't you dead? We got better

Firstly, it seems that comment notification from this blog hasn't been working. So I hadn't seen the recent comments since I last logged in. Apologies. I've not had a reason to come back in here in ages.

Until today, when the programmer who was working on the next chapter re-established contact with the beta-testers.

Chapter VII should soon be available to play.

The X-Men Are Missing

It's been a year since the last update here which is also as long as it's been since I've had word from the developer who was working on finishing the new chapter.

The last version of the game still had some bugs in it, including a rather painful one that could end your game very quickly, and one that was kind of funny but made your opponent completely unkillable.

Chapter 7 is a long chapter. A very long chapter. It's a whole game in itself. Testing such a long game was hard work for the testers and got to a point where there was not much more that we could do without a new iteration or someway to skip segments of the chapter.

I think this game will get out there eventually, but I fear real world commitments have got in the way for now.

Testing update

The new developer has had some computer problem that's holding up further bug fixing at the moment.

The beta testers are still play testing. Apparently there's still lots of things we've not found.

Hopefully when the next version gets a bigger release, and more people playing, you can help us track these secrets down!

And make sense of the cryptic hints we're teased with.
